Verizon frequently offers to pay the early termination fees for users stuck in a competitor's home high internet contract as an incentive to switch to Verizon DSL or Verizon FiOS high speed internet. The best promotional deals typically require a 1 year to 3 year agreement for which their may be an early termination fee, but an internet package without an agreement may be available at a higher cost. An equipment rental fee and set-up charge may apply for some plans. Users may also be charged an infrastructure improvement fee and fees for accessing local channels on FiOS TV.
