Wired Internet Options in New Mexico
Traditional telephone companies and TV service providers are the main internet service providers in New Mexico and most other areas with wired broadband internet. While internet providers larger metro areas may have gigbit speeds and fiber optic infrastructure, copper-line infrastructure is primarily used in smaller centers and rural areas. Still, maximum speeds on older networks can be as high as 200 Mbps for cable and about 50 Mbps for DSL. In select areas with fiber, internet speeds can be as high as 2000 Mbps. In New Mexico, wired high speed internet providers include CenturyLink, EarthLink, Frontier, Optimum, Sparklight, Spectrum, Windstream and XFINITY.
Wireless Internet in New Mexico
Satellite internet service should be available anywhere as long as the user has a clear view of the southern sky, but in some areas, where satellite internet connection rates are already at capacity, service may be unavailable. Satellite service providers with the fastest internet speeds and highest network capacity include Starlink, Viasat and HughesNet. Wireless internet service is also offered in New Mexico by AT&T Mobility, Boost Mobile, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless.
